Femtocell Americas 2010

13 Dec 2010 - 14 Dec 2010, Miami, USA

Building on the success of last year's event, Femtocell Americas 2010 widened the scope of the conference to include discussion on handsets for a femtocell rich network, services to entice the residential and business user and timing, availability and performance of planned LTE femtocells.

Picochip was a Diamond Sponsor at the picoXcell range of femtocell solutionsevent and showcased its advanced solutions for LTE and HSPA+ public access femtocells and picocells. The recently announced PC333 HSPA+ device is for use in large enterprise, metropolitan and rural femtocells and strand-mounted systems, and integrates gracefully into both traditional and femto-centric network architectures. The PC500 device provides a low-risk platform for carrier-class LTE enterprise and metro femtocell products, supporting both FDD and TDD modes of operation.

Used in combination, the two devices allow Picochip customers to start work now on creating the next generation of dual-mode small cell solutions.

Picochip conference participation

Picochip VP of Marketing Rupert Baines offered insights into how technology developed for mass-market femtocells is increasingly being used to serve the needs of large-scale enterprises, and moving into public access applications akin to traditional picocells.
