Picochip offers solutions for every major wireless standard: solutions that are not only carrier-class and rigorously tested, but are also based on open standard specifications whenever possible.

Our HSPA+ femtocell products lead the market and are already deployed in commercial networks around the world. Indeed, according to ABI Research, Picochip has 80% market share of HSPA femtocell deployments.

Looking forward, our heritage in OFDMA and WiMAX – where our products are de facto industry standards – have given us a head-start in the move towards LTE and LTE Advanced. Picochip customers are already well on the way to realizing LTE systems, thanks to this early lead. Picochip solutions for LTE 'small cell' basestations, femtocells, picocells and Home (e)NodeB are shipping today.

However, we also support other technologies.

For the Chinese market we offer a turnkey TD-SCDMA femtocell basestation design. A close co-operation with GWT has yielded a full cdma2000/EvDO reference design, completing a “full hand” of 3G femtocell solutions.

Our products are scalable and adaptable, covering residential, enterprise, metropolitan and rural requirements. GSM/GPRS/EDGE femtocells offer promise in providing low-cost coverage in emerging markets. Picochip’s products are also applicable in this area, where Cambridge Consultants has produced a complete physical layer design for a low-cost GSM femtocell.
