Femto Forum

Picochip is a founder member and active participant in the Femto Forum, a not-for-profit membership organization that brings together the foremost femtocell equipment vendors with the major global mobile operators assessing the technology.

The forum has already achieved important results in its work on pre-competitive standards-related issues including radio planning and control, device provisioning and management and device-to-network standardization. By addressing these key areas of concern to operators, the Femto Forum has already encouraged the uptake of femtocell technologies and eased the task of network integration.

As well as developing open standards the forum aims to build a thriving femtocell technology ecosystem that supports deployment. In addition, a marketing task force promotes the benefits of femtocell technology for both operators and subscribers.
